The greatest nourishment to children
is not what goes in their mouths, but what comes out of ours.
~Nathaniel H. Bronner Jr.~
Since I love to cook, this really hit me. Each day we are responsible for feeding our kids both spiritually as well as physically. Metaphorically, We can choose to prepare a comforting slice of warm newly baked bread with butter, a sweet and indulgent piece of flavorfully rich chocolate cake, a bracing glass of freshly squeezed lemonade, or conversely a bitter plate of over cooked liver with a side of creamed spinach. It is our option if we make our children's hearts and minds a gourmet restaurant with nothing but the finest cuisine or macdonalds.

I hear you Lupinsgirl,

Real nourishment for the emotions comes from receiving
Love
For when another serves hatred then the ones served are given to
Starve.

That is very true and a nice quote also. Congrads as well on the poetic and well-written metaphor. You may find your self not only a good parent but also a creative and articulate writer if this is any indication.
